Scuba-Diving and Diving Equipment
Our staff on board is the friendliest, most helpful and most experienced in the area. There are there to make your trip safe and fun. And they are there to help you with any questions. Most of our staff are Divemasters or Scuba Instructors and avid lobster hunters, so if you need help are there to give you some pointers.
It is important to note that our Divemasters are not able to dive with you on a dive. If you would like to hire a Divemaster for the day you may call us to arrange. In California, it is common that you will dive with your dive buddy and not in a group lead by a divemaster. Our captains are experts at setting the anchor directly on the dive sight. The best diving is right at the anchor line, so you may follow the anchor line for your descent and ascent.
Our water temperatures vary and range from 52-58 degrees Fahrenheit in the months of February to June and then increase to 56-64 degrees Fahrenheit in the months of July to January. The best diving is from June to February. We find excellent visibility ranging from 40'-100'+. During the months of March, April and May we find that conditions are a bit rougher with more winds and lesser visibility. Diving can be great during these months, it is just not as consistent as the other times of the year.
Things that you might expect to see on your trip include: Dolphins and whales while crossing from the mainland to the islands. When we are diving we can see: sea lions, bat rays, Garibaldi, lobsters, abalone, sea urchins, sea stars, kelp forests, Calico Bass, Giant Sea Bass, octopus, Horn Sharks, Torpedo Rays, shrimps, nudibranchs and many other critters.
